Woza Cape Town Information Sheet


Bookings can be made as follows

  • On email bookings@theatreinthedistrict.co.za
  • Hotline booking number 079 770 4686 (daily from 0900 to1700)
  • Seats are not reserved but allocated on a first come first served basis (maximum capacity is 150seats)
  • Price per person for meal and show is R170-00


    • Woza Cape Town will be presented each Monday night from 1st October -30th April or by appointment for any group of 30 or more.

     

    Procedure for a Woza Cape Town evening

  • Guests arrive at the Theatre in the District at 18h15
  • Each show is preceded by a Traditional Cape Cuisine meal for the guests.
  • Drinks can be bought at the cash bar.
  • The meal is cleared for audience to meet the cast at 1915
  • The cast then teach the audience the basics of a Gumboot Dance
  • The show starts at 1930
  • The show ends at 2100.
  • Coffee and drinks can be ordered after the show
  • The bar stays open as long as required
  • Car guards are provided for individuals using private transport.
  • Buses and taxis can collect groups from the front entrance. The physical street address is Theatre in the District, 106 Chapel Street, District Six,  Chapel Street runs between Searle Street and Keizergracht. The theatre is on the roundabout where Chapel Street passes under Eastern Boulevard.
  • Income from the show is used to support the community project and the performers involved, some of who come very from challenging circumstances
